As we believe to this day, every system in the body is connected.
Our digestive and hormonal systems, are not independent of one another.
If you or someone you know suffers from an unhealthy gut, it can actually cause more than just gas, stomach pain, bloating, or diarrhea.
The reason for this is that 60-80% of our immune system is located in our gut. Therefore gut imbalances have been connected to hormonal imbalances, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression, eczema, rosacea, and many more!
The gut is the doorway to optimum health and there are some simple steps we can take, regardless of our current health situation.
Here are some telltale signs that you are suffering from gut health issues...
- Food allergies or food sensitivity to certain foods you consume.
- Anxiety issues
- Bloating, gas or diarrhea.
- Skin issues, such as acne, eczema or rosacea
- Frequent infections
- Poor memory or lack of concentration, ADHD, ADD
- Mood swings, irritability
We need to focus on restoring the balance in our bodies, to do this we can take the following steps...
ENSURE YOU ARE CONSUMING WHAT IS GOING TO SUPPORT YOUR OVERALL HEALTH
Focus on replacing the good. Make sure you are including the nutrients you need to keep your body well balanced. Too often we can consume food for flavors alone and create unhealthy eating habits by not varying what we consume to make sure we are having a good balance of all of the minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants our bodies require.
Certain drugs we may have consumed to alleviate symptoms of poor gut health such as antacid, or pain killers to name only 2 of many, can actually cause health issues and increase aging of the cells rather than supporting them.
We need to focus on supporting our digestive enzymes, hypochlorite acid and bile acids that are essential for correct digestion.
ELIMINATE THE BAD
Eliminate what is bad for you. Our goal is to focus on eliminating the things that are having a negative effect on our gut health. These are inflammatory foods and other irritants such as alcohol, caffeine or drugs.
Other inflammatory foods such a as dairy, corn, soy, eggs, sugar, and gluten can lead to food sensitivities. Start by eliminating these food types to discover what is not working well for your gut, which foods and drinks are problematic, to you personally.
Remember, we are all unique and need to remember that what suits one, may not be what suits the other.
Give yourself two weeks and little by little start to incorporate them back into your diet, one by one, while journaling how your body is responding. You will inevitably come up with the ideal nutritional plan especially for you.
If you find that you are experiencing severe gut problems, I highly recommend going to your doctor and requesting a stool analysis. This will be the key to discovering the exact levels of good bacteria, and/or any infections you may be experiencing.
Infections can be caused by yeast or bacteria or parasites. Therefore an analysis will help you discover what may be a core problem.
‘To remove infections, you may need treatments from herbs, anti-parasite medication, anti-fungal supplements or even antibiotics.
It is critical to replenish healthy bacteria to re-establish a healthy balance of good bacteria. To get started, this can be accomplished by taking a probiotic supplement that contains beneficial bacteria such as bifidobacteria and lactose bacteria species. The recommendation is 25-100 billion units per day. You can also take a prebiotic supplement (food for good bacteria) or consume foods that are high in soluble fiber.
REPAIR YOUR GUT WITH ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS
It is essential to help our gut repair itself by consuming the correct nutrients. My favorite supplements to ensure good gut health are L-glutamine, this is an amino acid that rejuvenates the gut wall lining. Other nutrients that I recommend include, zinc, omega-3 fish oils, vitamin A, C, and E, accompanied by herbs like aloe vera.
Regardless of your health issue, following the 4 steps mentioned, it will help your gut heal and protect itself. It has been proven to dramatically improve chronic and inflammatory illnesses within a very short time period.
My personal recommendations to maintain a healthy balance of nutrients, minerals and antioxidants is available here in Secrets Of The Jungle.
I have consumed LifePak along with Marine Omega, for many years and can personally vouch for the incredible health benefits I experience.
For those who do not know me, I am constantly active. I train at least 2 hours a day and cannot remember the last time I fell ill with stomach problems or the common cold. After recently undergoing brain surgery, a 7-hour operation to remove a tumor from my head, I was amazed myself at being able to literally begin exercising in the hospital after day 5 being let out of bed whilst under observation. Even after receiving numerous chemicals such as pain killers and anti-inflammatory and antibiotic medication post-operation, not once did I suffer from gut issues.
I am not mentioning this to brag, rather highlight just how keeping a check on our bodies nutritional needs can make the difference between a slow recovery or a fast one.
